Gradually, they fell in love with each other, but Akari moved to another prefecture due to her parent’s jobs. In elementary school, Takaki befriends Akari Shinohara, a cute girl who turns out to be his class fellow. He couldn’t stay in one place for an extended period due to his father’s job. Takaki Toono is a young guy with a kind and dedicated personality. It follows the story of two teenagers who are helplessly in love with each other, but they are unable to meet each other due to long distances. One of the most magnificent anime movies created by none other than Makoto Shinkai himself. 5 Centimeters Per Second (Byousoku 5 Centimeter) 5 Centimeters Per Second The elements like romance and drama are found abundantly in these anime. Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo portrays youth and their lives in a manner like Hotarubi no Mori e. Amidst all this, She gains the power to leap through time.Īt first, Makoto takes it lightly and plays with this newfound power here and there, only to learn about the consequences the hard way. Even for those who are fans of Romance Dramas this is a movie that you should not miss.Unable to decide, Makoto indulges herself in baseball with her friends. For those looking for a short but beautiful movie, this is a good movie to watch. It is a refreshing romance that will really make an impact once you’ve finished. Hotarubi no Mori e is such a good short movie. It was relaxing but at the same time beautiful. I enjoyed this movie a lot, I didn’t plan to write about it but here I am. Despite not showing some aftermath scenes that would make it even better it ended in a good note. The ending of Hotarubi no Mori e was good because it gave closure to what happened to the characters after. The drama and romance were incorporated well and entered at optimal times. Pacing: 10/10 – Perfectionįor a 40 minute movie, it really presented a benchmark on how these short movies should be done. The sounds used were appropriate for each scene but nothing truly notable. It had good music, everything fit the movie well. There wasn’t any particular creative use in the visuals but it did fit the show. The graphics in this movie were alright, for a 2011 movie it was good but nothing spectacular. The movie was able to transition the friendship into a romance not because of a particular event but because of the growth in the character’s perspectives as they spent more time together. The 40 minutes didn’t matter, I was able to connect with the characters and appreciate how they changed throughout the movie. It was simple, gentle, at the same time beautiful in how it was presented. As cheesy as the theme sounds, the movie wasn’t cheesy at all. Despite it only being a 40 minute movie it was able to use this theme better than a lot of shows I’ve already watched. Still, I think Hotarubi no Mori e used this theme well. The theme used in this movie was “Forbidden love.” I know what you’re thinking, this is a theme that has been done over and over by a lot of different anime, movies, and tv series. It did a great job using the potential of the plot. I really enjoyed the premise and the execution of this movie. Knowing that the movie had the same writer as the one who created Natsume’s Book of Friends I expected this movie to have the same heartfelt feel as did the episodes of Natsume Yuujinchou. Soon after, they promised to see each other every summer when Hotaru was on summer break. After Gin guided the young Hotaru out of the forest they decided to see each other everyday that summer. She was told that Gin wasn’t allowed to touch humans, for if he touches a human he would disappear. During that time she was helped by a young spirit boy named Gin. When Hotaru Takegawa was a young girl, she got lost in a forest inhabited by spirits. So without further ado here is another review on a movie I really liked Hotarubi no Mori e (Into The Forest of Fireflies’ Light). For some reason I felt like watching anime movies more than finished anime series recently.
